Just like Icarus, Comet ISON may have flown too close to the Sun, but hopefully not close enough, as there is evidence from the SOHO LASCO C3 camera that part of ISON has survived and is brightening. See link:

Comet ISON will have it's close encounter with the Sun when it reaches perihelion this evening, Thursday 28th November, at 18:44 UTC.
