Tom The Televue eyepieces are wonderful but a bit expensive. If you can afford them go for it even if you only get one at a time. I started with Meade plossols and then baader hyperions. I am now selling the baaders to pay for the Naglers. I have 9mm and 16mm Naglers and a 27mm Panoptic which I use w...

Thats basically what my club here has. We have a club house but no observatory. We have a couple of concrete slabs facing directly north/ south with a few electrical power points on each.

There is also the airport near Salou which Ryanair use. Its an hour on the train into Barcelona from Salou. There should be lots of accomodation there. Wish I was going.
Barcelona itself can be a bit dodgy. Last conference there one guy had his bags stolen from the hotel and another lady was mugged.

Hi Conn The DFK camera works well and is a single shot colour camera. I am sorry I didn't get a mono camera and a set of RGB filters as I have more clear skies now but I still like the convenience of the colour camera. I use a netbook to capture all my avi's now which is very handy at the eyepiece e...

Jupiter 21 Oct
Hi The local seeing where I live is generally quite good and rarely poor compared to Limerick where a "good" night was quite rare. This has allowed me to use the opportunity to do some planetery imaging with my DFK colour camera. This is a shot of Jupiter taken on the 21st Oct through the C11 at F10...

That,s a shame. It was a good event but as you say these things cost money to hold and you can't expect the members to fund it all (unlike the Irish tax payer and the banks  ). I guess with WSP back online there are now too many events in the country for a fairly fixed audience of 50-60 people...

BSP 2010
Hi Folks Just saw the final agenda and new locaton for the BSP this year. The line up looks great and the location is fabulous. I wish I could be there. Last Years BSP was ther most enjoyable and relaxed starparty I had ever been too and I am sure it will be a great success this year. Even if the we...
