I had a good look at this comet through the 12" tonight and decided to put the canon on the back of the scope and try get a pic or 2. humble??, you gotta be kidding me, that's a great image !! If the camera and adapters are the same then the 2 pics are to scale, reports have come in that this thing has expanded alot , to me it now looks quite diffuse to the naked eye, it wasn't like that on Thursday. you should post that in the Co...

Frank and I headed to Doonbeg in Clare last night, a fantastic site illuminated only by the moon. We had a good look at this comet through the 20", there is definitely a steller like nucleus with a fan shaped wedge mini tail completely contained within the coma, the coma had a very definite outline ...

Frank, The setting you show aren't so different from what we were using. We had no luck for the past 2 evenings due to bad weather & equipment issues. Those price for re coating the mirror are excellent! We really need to do this now, or it will never be done. I'd be reluctant to do this until we have a good cap for the primary, you saw how much dust got on it in only 3 days. Once done, I agree, the coatings are top priority. I was thinking again...
