No worries, We started at around 9 and finished at about 1am, This time using high power (500x), we were able to see the central star of the ring nebula, its certainly a difficult object. Its up to you Dave to raise the bar and get a 25" scope, and a trailer + car to bring it around :lol: Glad you enjoyed the night. The one thing you'll find about astronomy is that the more you know about it, the more there is learn, there is no end to it, everything from scope optics and abberations...

Well lads what a fantastic night, !! :P It was probabily the most transparent night we've ever had up on the hill, the milkyway was was clearly visible from Perseus on the northeastern horizon to Sagittarius in the south, the Cygnus rift was easily visible right down to Ophiuchus. Just giving the heads up again, Mark doesn't want this scope, we can talk more about it at the club meeting in 2 days.
Before I had a big scope, I would have walked over burning coals barefoot to get this scope, I had it for a number of years way back and I can tell you its a fine scope optically.
