Nice photos there Roy. What kind of exposure were you using for Jupiter?

I was looking at lyra and cygnus myself on thursday night. Some lovely doubles in lyra, and i got to see the ring nebula.

Lidl Binos

Lidl have binos for €18 this thursday:

They seem to be the usual good quality bresser models.
It might be worthwhile sending a club text out on thursday about this.

The webcam sounds ideal, it gives everyone a chance to see the occultation
not just the person at the eyepiece.

Didn't we already approve getting a parallelogram mount at a committee last year?
It would definitely be nice to have for the public observing

Dave, that last link you gave to the english site are only selling the mount without the tripod, seems expensive because of that.

Cheers,
Gordon

Shuttle launch 24th Feb 21.50

The shuttle launches tomorrow at 21:50 to dock with the ISS. I'm guessing that this is
too long after sunset for it to illuminated from our point of view? The ISS is visible about
an hour before the launch low in the west, but it quickly enters the earths shadow.

Nice one frank! I suppose you'll be doing a "Thierry Legault" on it and capturing a lunar transit next? I can't see a problem with it. If it allows more people to get to meetings then its a good thing. The AGM would be the best place to get peoples views and then to change the day.

Hi Roy,

Yeah, that would be a popular one, i'm pretty sure we had a talk about this a
year or two ago. The only problem is getting someone to do it. Frank would be the obvious choice, but he's not around until January.

Cheers,
Gordon

December meeting

Hi folks,
We don't have a speaker for our December talk so we would like to hear from all the members to see what kind of subjects they would like to see covered.
(No promises mind :D )

Cheers,
Gordon
