I came across this when looking for another item on Maplin.
Could be a good small investment for going observing over the winter months.

Yea I saw it on display in there aswell, its looks great but I think you'd be going through batteries like no tomorrow.

Cool!

Uh... I mean...

warm!

I wonder can you use rechargers?
If not it'd be expensive
(unless you hooked yourself up to a power tank powering the scope!)

:D

I personally would not go for this, I had considered it, rechargeable batteries just don't last as long so would give you more grief then normal batteries and been plugged into the scopes power pack is only going to lead to a mass of cables wrapped around me.

The blurb on the site says that it's meant to be turned on to warm up then turned off.
Then on again when you feel cold.
Just being left on will give a paltry 40-50 minutes.
Hmm.

I received the heated hat ( like a hunting hat with the ear flaps) as a Christmas gift and I have to say it's the biz.
It heats up in a fews min and really keeps you warm.
I used one set of bats for the whole night.
The heated insoles look good too!
