Hi

I managed to get outside last night to take some pictures. This is a shot of M51. I also caught the owl nebula and will post it later.
CGE11, Canon 450D, CLS filter, 6x90 seconds stacked in dss.

Thanks Frank.
The individual frames were not all that different to the stacked frame. Even on the camera's LCD display you could clearly see the spiral structure of the galaxy after a 90 second exposure. I thought the stacked frame would be brighter. I'm probably doing something wrong.

Hi John,
Nice image there, good scale and wide field, vignetting is something you'll be sorting out with dark/flat frames ?
It would be interesting to see a longer exposure, what i like about this is that it gives a realistic view of the galaxy.
Would you be able interested in bringing your images into the club meeting in May and giving a quick 10 min run down on them, how you took them and so on ??

Sure. Hopefully the weather will play ball and I can get a few more exposures before May.
