Okay I'm ordering my new scope on
Monday and I should have it within 2 weeks.
Also thanks to Tom for volunteering his dexterity
in helping me assemble it as soon as I receive it..
Really looking forward to it, hopefully bigger and brighter things.

P.S

Tom I think you should have a look at this.

Astroshop.eu have it at just over
4000e delivered.. A bit pricey if you
ask me.. I reckon the 14" and a PST
for the same price would be my decision...
Also you gotta think about transportation and that
thing is a BEAST!!

But all that aside, I can see why you
want the 16", it looks amazing.

yea, that astroshop.eu says its a 3-5 day lead time and e58.80 3day delivery,
If you have the means and the will and the ability to carry it, then it seems like a no brainer to me tbh, aperture is always king.
then again, look at the expected delivery date on orions own website
http://www.telescope.com/Telescopes/Dob ... 102659.uts
they are definitely having production issues of one sort or another.....

Having seen through many h-alpha scopes, I wouldnt bother with a pst.

I wish I had Decisions, but my budget
only allows me the option of a 10" or 12"..
So I opted for the 12"..

So on that note if I had your options Tom
it would definitely be the 16" monster
even if it meant changing the car..

On another note, I believe the club have
a laser collimator?? If so I would really appreciate
a loan of it to set the collimation of my scope when it arrives.

Okay Plunge taken, scope ordered
money is gone, Just looking forward to receiving
my new little baby, should be next Monday or Tuesday.

On the issue of the collimator, club Secretary Gerry Garvey
has said it shouldn't be an issue..
But I would really appreciate if the club Chairman and Treasurer
would sound off on this.

I hope you get years of observing out of it Roy.
Although on past performance, i think we should start a pool on when you're going to make your next upgrade.

I've no problem with you borrowing the collimator, if more club members had a need to borrow kit it would be a good thing.
