Just got the Harvey Norman 'The Big Sale' flyer. They have a Canon EOS 1100D Digital SLR camera with an 18-55mm lens for €379. It seems to come with a 'Bonus .. training course worth €150'. I am not up to date on prices elsewhere but this seems like good value.

They are great value at the moment. You might even pick it up for less online. Harveys are not the cheapest. I picked up a 7D last September. They are $500 cheaper now. Kicking myself that I didnt wait and get a 6D.
I still have the 450D which I find I use when travelling or out and about as it is so light and handy and takes great shots. You cant go wrong with the deal you describe Conn.
