well, I was going to send out a text on Monday morning to all paid up members briefly explaing to situation regarding observing sites for the transit and asking that all those interested meet up at the new petrol station (furthest) out on the dock road at 6.30pm Tuesday or they can do their own thing, gives people who work a chance to get home and get some food.

IF the weather is looking like its going to be clear in Limerick but not in Skerries or Garran point, then we all go home and meet up again after midnight and head up to Tountinne, otherwise we leave there and head towards Dublin, should be in Dublin by 9pm, we can stop in Bewleys or somewhere for a pit stop if needed, and then head up towards Belfast, be there well before 12 and then head to Garran point and get a small few hours sleep in the cars I guess before we setup.

I'll be contacting the guys up north on Tuesday evening if we're heading to them.

anything left out, anyone else has another plan ?

Remember Mon and Tue are holidays in the North - they'll be celebrating the Queen's Jubilee.

actually guys, if no one has any objections, I'm going to send this text out 9pm Thursday night, cos I wanna use the texts from this month and not eat into Junes texts, and cos people are starting to ask me whats happening for this

SAC TEXT, the last transit of venus across the sun for 105 years is happening at sunrise on Wednesaday the 6th june. Due to the timing of it, the best place to see it is on the north east coast, we hope to join the IAA/NIAAS guys on Garren point, failing that then Skerries, failing that then we'll be heading to Tountine mountain near killaloe. If youre interested in travelling, can you send a text to me on 0876137293 so we dont end up waiting for you if youre not coming. If you need transportation, we'll try arrange something for you, we're meeting up at the new furthest petrol station on the dock road at 6.30pm on Tuesday evening, a discussion on this is happening on the clubs bulliten boards, Dave.

it even reads as been crazy hahaha
do people want anything changed in it ?

You're right.
I think we're getting lazy in our old age! Lol.
Things should get a bit easier for me in a year or so once the babys are
A little more grown up.
Scotty is mad into his space stuff so I'll have the perfect excuse!

Y,know what.
Time flys.
We should knock heads and come up with a list of all the things coming up
In say the next 5 years.

haha, I was only doing that today in my head.
The 2 obvious ones are the 2 solar eclipses , Fareo islands and the one in the US.
I've watched a few episodes of WhaleWars, viking shores and I've gotton a bit of a feel for the place, seen all 5 episodes, poor whales and all that.

But, beforehand I had an impression in my mind that it would be like the aran islands, its abit more advanced there then that, there is a decent road infrastructure on the main island and a good central town, I have to say I've been swayed to been amenable to going there for the eclipse,
now, the odds are severely against us weatherwise, but I would go if others were up for it given its not that far away. and there really isnt anywhere else on that eclipse path that easish to get to.

anyway, its a discussion for another thread.

well guys, have just seen a post on the ifas boards from Paul regarding Garran point, it isnt looking good, the weather crossing the country today will clear there last and will be over the irish sea/scotland right in the path of the sun tomorrow morning, they'll announce later today what they're doing for definite.
