Lads I'm going to skip this one, it's over 99% cloudy where I am and doesn't look like improving.

Guys I'm sorry to say this
but ye missed the most amazing
site I've ever seen in this hobby so far...

To see the Moon and Jupiter rise
at the same time and the speed
In which it went from touching
the horizon to when it was up above
the horizon was unbelievable...

Managed to do about an hour observing
Before we caught Jupiter and the Moon
Rising the the corner of my eye...

We got some excellent views of both
Objects in the FOV of the 40mm and 24mm..

I'm glad I took the risk and hit the burren now,
Just sickened I forgot to put the memory card
in the camera.. But heh I still have the memories..

Cheers Roy  :D

glad you saw it Roy, figured your chances weren't too bad given the sat images.

Whatever about the conjunction, was there any sign of an aurora ?? a big cme impact was due and has hit abit late, there is a fairly big aurora storm happening right now over canada, (kp=6), I'm wondering was there any activity when you were out ?

No Dave, there was no sign
of aurora... But thats not to say
It wasn't there..
Its just that it started getting cloudy
From the North..

But Naomi got lucky, she saw a flare
got through her FOV while looking
at Andromeda through the 40mm eyepiece...

Cheers Roy :D :D
