Comet Lulin

Post by Frank Ryan » Mon Feb 23, 2009 5:11 pm

Well if you want to see this comet at it's closest then
tonight / tomorrow morning is the time.
I observed it last night.
In a pair of 10x50's.
It's a small wee fuzz ball under Leo.
Tonight it's going to be 3 Moon diameters below Saturn.
Easy in Binos.
Now lets hope for a break in this incessant cloud!

Cool.
Just observed it again tonight.
It's more diffuse since last time.

No joy last night or should I say this morning up to 2am, too much haze/light cloud with the city light comming off it, lets watch for those gaps to night right now 6.45pm and wall to wall cover.

I went up to the entrance to cratloe wood last night to have a good look at this comet with the big binos,
It appeared as a bright diffuse object, signs of a tail and not sure if i was imaging a con-trail or not, a nice view. for sure. !
