First Real Watch

I was down in Kerry over the weekend, in Dún Chaoin, right on the end of the Dingle peninsula. The seeing was fantastic, and although I didn't have my scope with me, I did get my hands on a decent set of binoculars, and had a good old gander.
I saw the Andromeda galaxy for the first time, with the help of a little pocket star guide. It was a profound experience, gazing on an entire galaxy, even if it was just a dim wisp. It is both a humbling and exhilarating feeling, and has me hooked on this wonderful hobby.
Here's to more nights viewing.
Le meas,
Billy.
