It's a great buzz to have some new blood in the club, especially someone so eger to get into it.
Nice scope by the way.
A 5" er like that will always be of use to you.

Ive got a flask, so did you say you had an area of concrete in your fields ??
working on grass is generally not a good idea.

Also, since you asked about optic cleaning in the last meeting, some good advice on cleaning optice on the ifas site
http://www.irishastronomy.org/cms/forum ... 2&id=85984
Overcleaning is the worst thing you could do, also using the wrong materials will micro scratch the lenses\mirros leading to a permanent dull finish.

Hey Dave

Its not a concrete surface but its a pretty level gravel surface and a few acres of pretty level fields that I can lay out some plastic sheeting to put our scopes on. I also have a 33ft gazebo if ye need it, it could come in handy for a trip to the burren. It'll be a place to have a bite to eat and still be outside observing. By the way Sunday night is looking good and ye're more than welcome to join me out here. The sky is supposed to be crystal clear.

Cheers Roy. :D :D :D

Hi Roy,
I was well impressed with your scope the other night, and was wondering what
was the name of the site you got it from?
Cheers,
Gordon

Hey Gordon.

Thanks for that, the site you're looking for is www.opticstar.com the 2 guy's that own it are very nice. If your doing any bussiness with them you have to ring them 1st to let them know you're form Ireland. Tell em you were told about the site by Roy Stewart.

Cheers Roy.

Well so far so good Accuweather has it down for a clear dark sky, but ye know Ireland and the weather doesn't always play ball with the forecasters. So we'll just keep an eye on it and hopefully it'll turn out right.

Cheers Roy.

OK that works for me. I'm willing and eager to go observing any night and Monday night does look better according to Accuweather. But if it does clear up this evening(hopefully) I'm still up for observing on both nights. Oh Dave will you be bringing that MONSTER of yours, cause I'd love to get a look at it.

Cheers Roy :D :D
