boys / girls astro related names

Post by Dave Lillis » Sat Apr 27, 2013 8:53 am

Guys'n Gals,
As you might or might not know, Joanne is having a baby in July 8), so I'm gonna have my hands full, sell all the gear to pay for nappies and so on.

Only thing is we're trying to think up of names, astro related names.

We cant call him perseus and mirfak or something mad, its hard to think of a good boys name,
As for a girls name, we had considered Miranda, only thing is she'd never forgive me for naming her after a moon around that planet,

So any suggestions you might have, fire away

DUDE! NO WAY!! CONGRATS!
:D

OOOhhh it'll be all changes now! And not just the nappies!

Seriously,
delighted for ye.

Astro names..
Found myself in a similar situation..
Cassy was christened Cassy but I call her Cassiopeia. :-P
Scott (Scotty) - well... there may or may not be a Star Trek reference there...
8)

TBH - I found it a little challenging to think up of anything that was remotely normal yet astro related...
But they don't need to be called Castor and indefinably not Pollux. LOL

You could always go with names of people involved in astro stuff. Neil and Patrick are normal names and would be a nice tribute to two big figures who have gone in the last year.

Now there is an interesting idea, hadnt thought of that,
or how about Buzz, since he is still alive.
or how about Alcor, sounds like something out of he-man :), would you mess with anyone called Alcor ? lol

the only real one I can think if is Andy, after Andromeda, then again Andromeda was a woman, so I dunno.

some of the names here are hilarious

Congrats on the good news...
The fun begins now, If there's
any advice I can give you it's this,
Get as much sleep as you can between
know and then cause its the last sleep you'll
get for the next 3 years.. Sorry but true..

But every bit of it is worth it, because there's nothing
better than watching them grow and learn. So again CONGRATS.

Cheers Roy :D :D

Many congratulations to both of you :)
You will have your hands full. Hope you wont need to sell all the astro gear.
My wifes name is Sung hwa, which means "shining star"- so it was destiny for me
Naming kids with interesting names is a tough call unless you are a rock star or famous actor and you know they will forgive you for it when they grow up.
Yes, definitely not "Pollux", Betelguese and certainly not "Sirius" as they will never be taken "seriously". (or shirley  )
Good luck and many congrats!
