There is a ARISS (Amateur Radio on the ISS) http://www.ariss.org/ contact planned for a school in the UK on Thursday 11th of February at 18:11:09. The school http://www.ariss.org/upcoming-contacts.html will contact the ISS direct and the Amateur Radio Licenced Astronaut, in this case Timothy Peake call sign KG5BVI, will respond on a downlink on 145.800 FM - which will also be audible across Ireland.
If anybody has a Scanner or other receiver capable of receiving 145.800 MHz FM, they should be able to hear the downlink tansmissions from the ISS with only a very basic antenna.
It will not be possible to hear the uplink (students asking questions) as the frequency will be in the UHF band which is line of sight communications only. You should hear Timothy's responses to the questions asked by the students.

The ISS call sign is scheduled to be GB1SS (Golf Bravo One Sierra Sierra).
