I was in Dave L's house the other day and we were discussing
what you would actually see for some of the upcoming Solar Eclipses
if you stayed here to observe them
These few make for interesting events.

2011 Jan 04 Partial - Europe, Africa, c Asia

The sunrise will be slightly darker than normal this particular morning.
At around 8.50am the rising sun will be partially eclipsed by the moon and 4th contact will
occur approx 9.25 AM

Should make for an interesting sunrise.

2015 Mar 20 Total - Iceland, Europe, n Africa, n Asia
[Total: n Atlantic, Faeroe Is, Svalbard]

If you can't make it to Svalbard then maybe a trip up to our
friends in the North might be the idea for this.
Again, a morning event the Moon just misses making it total for us here in Ireland.
Still, a lovely sight for sure is in store and obvious darkening I'm sure.
I was surprised just how much the Moon obscures the Sun for this one.

And if you think that one is a near miss check out the Total
in 2026, it's literally just off the coast!

2026 Aug 12 Total - N. America, w Africa, Europe
[Total: Arctic, Greenland, Iceland, Spain]

For those that don't take a boat trip to see totality,
the sun is obscured much more that in 2015.
Trick here this time would be to head to the South West.
