Update:
Pere & another member of Aster Josep
are going to meet us at our apartment on Wed morning.
We've swapped numbers and arranged to call each other tomorrow
to tie it all up.
I've also been given the number of Antiono in Fabra Observatory
and he's asked me to call him on Wed to arrange a time for Thur mornings visit.
Now...
I suppose I'd better pack.

Thanks lads.
The shot that nearly wasn't!
Aside from the primary goal of observing the eclipse,
I'd planned to get a timelapse shot like this BUT in the rush back to the apartment
to collect the gear I FORGOT MY TRIPOD!
Now there is a lesson for anybody doing astrophotography,
check your gear, check it again, then check it another 10 times
and once more before going out the door.
I had to balance the camera on the wall and hand hold it to get the
right angle for the background shot.
Headwreck!
I had people bumping into me, one girl to the right constantly talking to me,
shutter shake, dropping light levels,
at one stage I just gave up and decided to just concentrate on getting
a decent shot thru the 5''.
Then I said 'Feck it' why come all this way and not get 100% what you want.
So luckily I got one background shot that was just right
(after lots & lots of attempts)
The composite was pretty easy to put together,
just selected a series of moon shots from the 5'' that gave a good impression of the eclipse over time and layered them into the main image,
I didn't do any level adjustment of any kind on any of them, just cut n paste.
If you tag your shots in Flickr with Sky at Night it links them to thier page,
Jane Fletcher saw it on there and emailed me to ask permission to use it,
obviously I was like... holy crap!.. of course you can!!
There was only one or two other shots from the UK/Eire coz of the weather.
One of the shots was outstanding, It was a widefield of the eclipsed moon
in the milky way...
And who said Lunar Eclipses were boring!
