Another public event

Post by Roy Stewart » Fri Sep 16, 2011 4:37 pm

Hey Guys...

The dark evenings are coming
back so I was thinking should
we hold another public viewing
event on the strand and maybe
another 1 in Ennis...(Just a thought).

We also have the Guys in Clonmel
in October... Which I'll keep in contact
with em to organise something..

Cheers Roy :D :D

Yip, its definitely on the cards,
Franks sent me a link about the

"2011 International Observe the Moon Night, October 8, 2011"

So maybe we should start off by doing somehting for this, do a google search, you'll find many links, what do people think, if we do it, it means posters and distributing them to schoold/libraries and so on around the city.

As for Clonmel, we need a set of dates we ca work with that they can have us down there before we can plan anything.

Ya it sounds good...
But heres the problem I have with
putting something on for 1 day...

CONS
Number1: We have to hope the weather plays ball..

Number2: Its to much hassle for something that might let us down...

PROS
We could try organise a club event for that evening, only if the weather plays ball.... Its 2 days after the club meeting so we should know what the weather will be like(hopefully).... We could still hold it on O'Callaghans Strand and the members of the public could still come look through the scopes...

Cheers Roy

ok, so how about we wait till the club meeting to decide whether we do something, given recent trends with the bad weather, who knows what its gonna be like in october, I'm hearing roumours of an early winter starting in october, probabily started by some idiot watching goats on in a hill somewhere.

we actually did a night down there a few years back during such a match, it was dead quiet during the match, but afterwards we were kept busy for a good while.
