Met eireann says "Tonight, any lingering rain in the north will clear and showers will mostly die out. However, showers will return to coastal counties of the south later"

Would that not favour heading north east and rule out heading south altogether?

Yes. Exactly. It actually looks as if it may be clear here!
It's like one of those times in Stormchasers when although all you wanna do is drive, the smart thing to do may just be to hold position.

IF we go to skerries, the latest we can leave here is midnight.
also, are people still ok to meet up on the dock road and trash this out so we can deffo decide what were doing ?

Ya I was just looking at the same thing..
I'm a go for Tountinna... I can pick up
Conan at 2:30am at his place in Adare
and meet ye at Finnaghans carpark in Annacotty
about 3am and we can head from there..

Its not gonna be a costly hit or miss game
and its well worth the effort...
I would rather catch some of the transit than not
give it a chance at all, and if it doesn't happen then at
least we tried..
