Excellent newd!
Heres the reply i got:

First of all, thanks for your interest to visit Barcelona and to meet us, as
a coleagues in our quest to observe the stars.

About the Moon eclipse of June 15th:
http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/LEplot/LEp ... Jun15T.pdf
First contact of the Moon disc with the penumbra 17:24 UT Second contact The
Moon begins entering the umbra 18:23 UT Third contact. Beginning of totality
: 19:23 UT ...
And in Barcelona the Moon rises at 19:17 UT That means that we will miss the
initial phases of the eclipse.

We can organise the eclipse observation from the Castell de Montjuïc. This
is a casttle  atop a little hill in Barcelona, perched upon the harbour,
where the south-east horizon is oriented to the sea. There we observed the
solar eclipse of Jan 4th, that also began when the Sun was rising above the
horizon, and at the same azimut. See some pictures.

We can also organise, if your trip to Barcelona spans a few days, a meeting
between members of both associations, to speak about our activities, our
main fields of interest, maybe to show some astroimages or other
achievements, etc.

We would like to know aproximately how many people are planning to trip to
Barcelona and how many days you will stay here.

Best regards

wow, thats cool!
so we can go observing at the observatory so after all,
Do they mean "in" or "at" the observatory ??
as for the flights, flying out Tuesday evening 14th and coming back thursday evening 16th, flight times as per Toms email earlier.

You really cant make a mistake, there were no other flights to/from dublin/barcelona on those days.

Sorry I should have been more clear.
The email has nothing to do with the observatory.
It was from Pere Closas - the Chairman of the Barcelona Club 'Aster'
http://www.aster.org/ca/

In the email he says about the location of the observation:
Castell de Montjuïc

41°21'47.56"N
2°10'1.64"E

I have a KMZ Google Placemark if ye want it email me.
It as cool location!!

Lads.
I HIGHLY reccomend this company.
I've rented apartments from Loving Barcelona before
and they are exceptional value and WAY better than a hotel.

Plus, it's just a place to crash for two nights!
Examples.....

37 Euro Per Persom, Per Night.
Room 1 - Double Bed, Room 2 - Single Bed, Living Room - Sofa Bed.

http://www.lovingbarcelona.com/Barcelon ... 69-en.html

It's walking distance to La Rambla and a few blocks away so less noise.
I'd highly reccomend it!!!

super, so we'll be tagging long with the Barcelona Astro Club, perfect.
These people would be far better able to pick out a good observing site then any of us, they know the lay of the land.
Where is this observing site, is it on/near the hill we were on about.
As for that apartment, it looks perfect.
So how about it Tom, how about we rent the place Frank suggests ?
37 per person per night, it would be hard to beat that.
We could rent a 2 bed place between the 4 of us ??

ok, just had a look at that email Frank, that's up in the hills by the olympic stadium, nice and high and near the coast.
I found the name of the place I was originally looking at going to , its called the Tibidabo
The castell de montjuic site by the stadium is far better, overlooking a small bit of the harbour and mainly sea.

Ya its a fab site isn't it!
Did you see any of thier pics of
the partial eclipse from there in Jan?,
the are class.
Guys, if ye are happy with the apartment
then we need to book it asap.
These places get snapped up especially in June and this ones perfect for our needs.
Also, are either one of ye willing to book it?
I dont have a credit card!
The way I did it before with them was to
book it online and pay them cash at the apartment.
