Tom! Fair play to ya.
The charge is for them having the
rep greet us at the apartment after 8pm.
You'd be better off emailing them and
telling them what time our flight is due in and our approx time of arrival at the apartment.
The place is about 10 miles from the airport but that late at night we'd get there pretty quickly by cab.
We then pay the rep the balance and sign a
pretty standard cform (promising not to throw any TV's off the balcony etc)
Then they give you the keys and split.

Ryanair have changed the flight times!
Earlier going out - grand,
but earlier coming back is a pain as it
cuts into our day there so probably no
trip to the observatory unless we hit it EARLY.

Update on the invite from Pere at Aster:

Hello, Frank

Just this morning I was thinking about you and your trip...

I don't know if you are specially interested to visit some building or place here in Barcelona.

I can suggest, if you want, that myself and perhaps some other member of Aster  can be your guide, in Barcelona, in the morning of the june 15th . We can do a rapid tour and you can reserve the morning of the june 16th  if you want to visit some particular attraction, place or museum.

In the afternoon, before the eclipse hour, we can meet altogether with members of Aster, to let know, each one of our organisations to the other, the main activities, projectes, etc and, maybe, a little of its history. Our headquarters are not far from your appartment. Bring with you some pictures, or some PowerPoint presentation or other documents in a pendrive for a little presentation.
At the end of the eclipse (aprox at 23 h)  somebody of Aster will carry you to your appartment.

For the arrival day I can suggest  than you can take at the airport a bus to Plaça Catalunya. They are blue buses, direct from the airport to this point, P.Catalunya. The Plaça Catalunya (Catalonia Square) is the very center of Barcelona. From there to your appartment a taxi can cost  less  than 10 euros; it is close.

I'm not fluent speaking and listening english; but we will try to undestand. At worst, we can always write and look at the dictionary.

My mother, also a club member was ment to travel but had to cancel due to an upcoming visit to hospital.
