No worries Dave, I knew what you were saying!
I bought the Dew-not mini controller which can control two dew strips. I didnt think I needed a bigger controller. I'm thinking of heating the corrector plate and the eye piece, I'm not worried about the finder scope.
Regards,

Tom Walsh.

Tom., I wouldnt be worried about a finder either, you only need it at the very start of the night anyway and can always put the caps on it when finished with it to protect it anyway

I've been trying to convince myself to get the eyepiece warmers for a while, but I'm always chopping and changing the eyepeice so end up thinking its alot of hassle, dunno, it'll be interesting to see it working on your scope.

Thats a pity Roy :(

@Roy
Pity I was hoping you'd get some nice shots.
What do you think caused them to be OOF?

@John
Jeez John, it's been crazy weather down there! Are you in the thick of it!?

@Tom
I've got those dew controllers & bands and they are top gear.
Dew bands are a must for this island.

Happy Birthday SAC !
Yeah, we have had wierd weather-pretty much since I got here :?

Scopes have been in their boxes for some time now. I have only managed some public outreach events mid-week through broken cloud.
The astronomical society of Victoria have their annual Messier marathon on at their Heathcote dark sky site, about 3 hours north of Melbourne in March. There are normally about 250 people there, mostly camping out so I hope the weather plays ball. I'll post some pics of some of the awesome scopes that will be there.
