Well, we went and got ourselves a 10'' scope for the club,
2nd hand but it is a beauty.
There were one or two small flaws with it but our resident engineer Dave L
came to the rescue and it' purring like a kitten.
You said there was a cog or something missing Dave?
What do we need to make this complete?

Frank,
1, Whats needed is 1 cog for the dec drive, possible 2 if we cant get the matching one, this isnt at all critical, maplin might come to the rescue here.
2, Secondary mirror recoating, again it would be nice but isnt critical for our purposes.
Luckily, none of these are show stoppers.

oh it is necessary, its just not that necessary, it can wait a few more month.
Also, I'm not happy with the way the 12" mirror is been covered, or not more like, I'm afraid if we go ahead and get it recoated that it'll be covered in dust again in no time.
What we need it a tightly snugly fitting plastic cap that can go directly over the mirror, imagine something like a small bin lid or something to that effect. I'm racking my brain trying to think of something that'll do it, until we solve this problem there is not point in recoating the 12" mirror.
