Geminids 2010 - who's up for it?
Last years was truly the astro event of the year!
I'll be staking out a spot up in the Burren all going well with the weather.
Any takers?

Cool!
Next question is: Boher or Burren?
Also, be sure to bring:
Recliner or Sun Lounger, as much clothes as you can fit into the car and most important,
Hot drinks and Sandwitches!
The weather is giving clear spells,
some clouds, bit of wind and fog inland.
I'd prefer to deal with the fog over that wind up the Burren any day!

well guys I cant make it tonight, but hey i'll have a look from where I am.
The cloud cover is gappy, not ideal really, more cloud then gaps from what I can see, let us know how it goes.
Its very hard to tell from the IR sat image where the gaps are, especially when you compare the daytime images against equivilant IR images at the same time.
I'm holding out for the eclipse on Tuesday morning before christmass......

well, it was cloudy last night, nothing seen by me.
As for the eclipse, I was thinking of the burren as it has a flat horison, we'd call a club observing session, what do yee think ??
I might even get the 12" out of the dome and bring it up to the burren if the weather is looking particularily good. it could be a great array of scopes, a great one for the club website, 4 SCTs, a 9.25, the clubs 10" and two 12"s
Not many clubs can boast such an arsenal.!
needless to say, Ive already booked the tuesday off from work.
