Tom., I wouldnt be worried about a finder either, you only need it at the very start of the night anyway and can always put the caps on it when finished with it to protect it anyway
I've been trying to convince myself to get the eyepiece warmers for a while, but I'm always chopping and changing the eyepeice so end up thinking its alot of hassle, dunno, it'll be interesting to see it working on your scope.

Yeah, we have had wierd weather-pretty much since I got here
Scopes have been in their boxes for some time now. I have only managed some public outreach events mid-week through broken cloud.
The astronomical society of Victoria have their annual Messier marathon on at their Heathcote dark sky site, about 3 hours north of Melbourne in March. There are normally about 250 people there, mostly camping out so I hope the weather plays ball. I'll post some pics of some of the awesome scopes that will be there.
