Observing Session Adare
Hi Guys n Gals. Friday looks good so if the weather is as expected, we will be doing some observing in my place.
Directions are: Drive through Adare (Limerick Side) passing through the only set of traffic lights.
Take the next left (just passed the agri machinery shop) towards Ballingary which is signposted.
Drive about 2km you will see a small row of street lights on your left.
Slow right down at the end of the street lights, the house is a small yellow bungalow on the right. there is a "bends ahead squiggle sign" beside the entrance.
We share the entrance with another bungalow and there is a large detached house on the left.
If you pass the street lights and go through a bend you have gone too far.
There should plenty of room for 3 or 4 cars plus scopes.
See you then

Hi Conan,
Roy tells me I missed a call from you about this, I was upgrading the firmware on my phone at the time, probabily why it didnt ring.
Anyway, if the weather is looking good, then this will be a good opportunity to try out your site, very generous of you by the way.
What type of surface would we be on, is it gravel, grass , concrete ?

Great observing night last night !, The club had a good long observing session at Conans place (just beyond Adare, co Limerick) last night, those who arrived early saw great views of Venus and the crescent Moon, Later on everyone one got views of Jupiter and Mars and those who stayed v.v. late saw Saturn rising. Many deepsky objects were seen such as superb views of the Orion nebula, numerous globular clusters, galaxies (including the whirlpool),and even the horsehead nebula, the last of us finished up at 2.30, surrounded by frost and ice. Many thanks to Conan for letting us use his great dark site
