Moore Marathon
Hey Guys...
I was checking out the Sky at Night website
and noticed that they'll be broadcasting for 55years
this year and to celebrate it they have a Moore Marathon..
It's were Sir Patrick Moore picked out 55 of his favourite
night sky objects and called it the Moore Marathon...
I think its something we should undertake as a club
and submit our results to the Sky at Night website
and who knows the club might even get a mention
on the May edition of the show...
Here is the link to the PDF file, Just take a look and let me know what ye think..

yea, I'd seen this on the IFAS site, Carl O'Biernes is co-ordinating it here in Ireland. see

now guys, I'm thinking of just doing this if we manage to have a club observing sesison, I dont want to set a date and be beaten by the weather. I dont want to commit a weekend to this in advance, only if we HAPPEN to have a clear night. This way it is no extra work/pressure/promises or commitment.
As PRO, Roy, would you be able to contact Carl and ask him what we need.
he's at carl@webtreatz.com
If we end up doing it on a GAM night, all the better.

well, how about we keep it simple, print out one copy, bring them along to the GAM nights and we'll fill it in as we go along, we can all sign it when done,
how does that sound ?
