Just had a quick look at the sat. images and it looks like we could luck out and get some clear skies!

I thought we were on for a blazer of a sky, but once again the irish weather screwed us up, so all we got were brief clearances which showed an amazing milkyway, but not long enough to do anything scopewise.
a pity.

It was too hard to call. Literally forming, dispersing and reforming before our eyes. Having said that, wasn't the MW just incredible? The brief few moments we saw it.
Tonight I still can't make my mind up. The charts are changing by the minute harder to call than last night.

man, did you re-run the visible sat image for yesterday evening???, there was a clearance coming in from the west, but it literally condensated before our eyes into cloud by sunset, we would have had a good one otherwise.
As for tonight, you might get an hour or so of clearish sky as there is a small gap in the clouds coming in, that's assuming it doesn't change like last night,
I'm not going to go, to be honest, I'll pass tonight.

I had a look outside a small while ago, I was cursing the gods I can tell you,. there isnt a bloody cloud in the sky here !!!

but on the upside, I've re-cought the observing bug, and we should do our best over the coming winter to hit the observing site when we can.
We have the IOM night this weekend, so lets hope we get some good viewing that night !!

Hope the IOM night went well. I have been away for the past week - no phone, no internet and no clearskies. Luckily I brought some books.
