Comet Lovejoy
well, I have renamed it comet 'nojoy' because since it's come into view
there's either been the moon washing it out or the rain washing us out.
I did manage to see it once during a break in the clouds.
pretty unimpressive green blob. that was a few weeks ago thoug and I've not managed a glimpse since.
anyone else observed / imaged it?

Re: Comet Lovejoy
Had a look last night.
it's naked eye (could see it from Shannon)
looks like a fuzzy dim star.
through the ETX125 it was a nicely defined ball, more diffuse than what I imagined it would look like.
No tail visible.
took some wide field shots and will process them later.
Reminded me a little of Comet Holmes.

Frank, like yourself I have been at the ready to try to observe Comet Lovejoy over the last while but always stymied by the weather. It is interesting that it reminds you of Comet Holmes and I look forward to seeing any images that you have captured.

Saw it yesterday through 10x50 binos
A fuzzy green star with no tail.
The way the weather is going i'm not sure i'll ever get to see it again

I haven't had a chance to see the comet yet, but isn't this another run of the mill mag 4-5 comet , so not exactly dazzling.. But I'll give it a go if I get some clear skies.

Yip it's visually an average comet. Photos show a nice tail. Other than that if I missed it I wouldn't care really.

Re: Comet Lovejoy
Just got in a view of it here in the dome before the clouds rolled in.
Its a bright enough object, a fuzzy disk, no tail, no colour, but there was a haze in the sky that didnt help.
