We had our AGM as per usual and nominated the committee members, and went through the clubs accounts.

SAC PRO - Conan McDonnell, newspaper interview

Conan did a fab interview in the Limerick Independent newspaper advertising next months public observing session, publicising the club and publicising astronomy in general, weldone

2-5th April 2009

International Year of Astronomy public outreach observing sessions

The club ran public outreach observing sessions at O'Callaghans Strand in Limerick from 8pm on these 4 nights. We had many people show up, where they saw the Moon, the planets and some deepsky objects.
Its was an enjoyable event, one which will be repeated.

10th August 2009

West Limerick FM interview

Dave and Frank went along to Newcastle West and visited the West Limerick FM radio station and had a good hour long interview 
where we went through the clubs history and details, the starparty and general astronomy information.
Its one we'd look forward to doing again.

9th September 2009

Thomas Bopp presents Whirlpool print the Lord Rosse

Thomas (invited speaker for this years BSP) presented a high quality print form the hubble space telesscope to William Parsons,  7th Earl of Lord Rosse in the Birr castle science center.

Burren Starparty

This years starparty was a great success, the speakers were Chuck Woods from Sky&Telescope and LPOD, Piers Bizony and Kevin Nolan.
The spoke about Observing the Moon, Astronomy and Scifi and MArs exploration respectively.
